obd 2 not connecting

However, an aftermarket radio without the K-line properly grounded will prevent an OBD2 scanner from connecting with the ECU. You need to either obtain a factory radio to plug in or fix the K-line.
Here's how to fix it:

OBD port issue
I drive a 2001 A4 1.8T Quattro and when I went to have the emissions done for tags their computer wasn't getting anything from my port. The person I got it from had a cheap VOLO chip which was working when I first got it but then died after about a week. I contacted VOLO and they sent me a replacement. When I spliced it into the obd port just as the other one was nothing happened. I checked for voltage from the wires that were spliced and they were reading some voltage. I figured just put the wires back together without the chip and it should be fine. So I did and went to try for emissions again. Nothing still. So I called an Audi dealership and they said they would look into it for around $150 and that it sounds like a module. I thought to myself that sounds vague and didn't do it. I don't have any CEL's and the engine is running fine. I got my tags but only by the skin of my teeth. So now I am looking at trying to figure this out because I want to keep this car now that I have read about its potential. ANy ideas?

Well,
I have an aftermarket radio and I Was having issues connecting VAC.COM to the car.
What solved it was quite stupid, read it somewhere online but I can't remember where.
My quick fix and IT literally solved my problem, was to remove the 'Candy Bar' part of the radio (the one you usually remove when in town to not get it robbed).
Anyways, when ever I get it scanned. That's my quick fix.
Hope your as lucky as me man.. xD

Could not get my car to connect, simply pulled the OBD port fuse on the left side of the dash, waited thirty seconds and popped it back in, and it connected right away. Maybe a coincidence but its worth a shot.
