oem s4 exhaust fits 2.8?

That "middle muffler" thing is the resonator. Cutting it off will make it significantly louder. I'm not positive how much, but I have heard of people doing a "res delete" which is what you're talking about. Try searching for "res delete" and see what you come up with.

well i found nothing of use in here so i typed in resonator delete audi a4 2.8 and i got only 1 video of what i was looking for... everyone else does delete after they put on a muffler...

but i must say i am sad.. the car sounds like a damn coffee can with rocks in it... horrible horrible... granted i dont know how he did it or if he jsut cut it off and didnt reconnect the piping with a straight pipe or what.. but i am sad now and i guess i have to spend money on a damn muffler... ******* corporations! aggghhhh

Huh, I thought there was more info on the res delete around here. Yea, mufflers can be pricey, but if you look in the right places, I've heard of people snagging the magnaflow 14815 (which IMO is the best looking/sounding magnaflow on the 2.8, search youtube for driveby's with that on there, its great) for 120 bucks and then its like, a 30 minute install at a muffler shop so you walk out paying less than 200 bucks for a great sound.

yea there is alot of stuff on here.. but its either the TT guys doing just the resonator delete or a4 guys doing it AFTER they buy a muffler cuz they want more sound... but yea i love the sound of the magnaflow muffler... im jsut super poor and was trying to cut corners lol

lol I hear ya, boy do I hear ya... The only reason I ended up with the setup I got was cuz the tuning shop I take my car to had a guy come in with an 02 S4 for a catback setup and he was just gonna put the old stock piping and mufflers (mid and tail) on craigslist and see what he could get so the owner/lead mechanic of the shop gave him 50 bucks and called me up and said it'd bolt right on to my car if I wanted it so I gave him 50 bucks for it, then he realized the slip connectors were a shave too small so I paid a muffler shop 110 bucks to cut and swap and weld my stock slip connector onto the new piece and it worked out and sounds great, but I would have never gotten the setup if I was trying to put it together with new, OEM parts, would have been almost 600 bucks to get it that way so I really lucked out.
