Oil change question
3k is more often than you need to. 5k in these cars is fine. 10k in most cars is fine with a good oil+filter. My G8 takes 8.8 quarts of oil (yes, seriously) and with Pennzoil Platinum, I go around 12-15k, which is still changing it before my oil change light comes on. Not that the light means much.
O.P. Mobil One oil isn't "real" synthetic oil,its a synthetic "blend"= crap.Stick with the Mfg'rs. recommended oil, Full Synthetic 5-W40.Good synthetic oil will have NO problem lasting 5000 miles. The 3000 mile oil change "myth" netted the BIG oil companies OVER 2.5 Billion (yes billion) dollars in 2009 alone!!. $.02
How about you up your post count with something worth reading?
You can use the recommended oil all you want... in the last 7months of you having your car I'm guessing you would know the 1.8t has massive oil sludge issues. That being said prolonging the time between oil changes leaves a greater chance for it to cause issues. IMO 5k for a 1.8 is way to long to wait to change your oil. But who am I.... Just some retard...
