3k is more often than you need to. 5k in these cars is fine. 10k in most cars is fine with a good oil+filter. My G8 takes 8.8 quarts of oil (yes, seriously) and with Pennzoil Platinum, I go around 12-15k, which is still changing it before my oil change light comes on. Not that the light means much.

Wrong. Mobil Clean 7500 is a synthetic blend. Mobil 1 is fully synthetic. I use M1 and change the oil and filter every 5k mi. with no signs of sludge. The oil temp never goes above where it's supposed to be, and when changing the oil, it's never black, it's a dark brown. I don't care what anyone says. Mobil 1 for life essay!

I'm sorry if have have offended you to the point of using someones mental state that they can not control, to use it to describe my lack of intelligence according to you.

You can use the recommended oil all you want... in the last 7months of you having your car I'm guessing you would know the 1.8t has massive oil sludge issues. That being said prolonging the time between oil changes leaves a greater chance for it to cause issues. IMO 5k for a 1.8 is way to long to wait to change your oil. But who am I.... Just some retard...
