Ok so I went to my local autozone and got a thermostat, replaced it, and bled the cooling system but when I was bleeding it, I let it idle till normal coolant temp and the oil temp gauge is still where it was before I bled it. I'm going to drive it and later and update you guys if it goes up like it should

Drove it, no codes, oil temp rose very slowing and got just above where it was before I replaced it. I would like to say though that I only drive for about 10 minutes or less. Very rarely do I drive for more than that

Driving ten minutes at a time is really bad for your car. I wonder if using prestone has anything to do with it.

i wouldnt say driving ten minutes at a time is bad, it depends on how you drive. but i will ask you to drive around for an hour, some hard driving and some slow driving and report back with your temps

I'd say driving ten miles an hour is bad in the long run. Fluids never get to temp, car never gets really running. Like flicking an on off switch a million times repetedly, it's going to die a lot quicker.

I live in a city/town environment so I drive to school and back (8 minutes) and work and back (10 minutes), Both times i drive on averge about 45 mph. Ill go out with some friends on a fun drive and see if everything gets up to temp

Ok so I drove 30 minutes (10 minutes at a time, 25 minute break in between) today and it got up to about 200 degrees. With stopping every 10 minutes I would say that is definite improvement
