Default OK give me a break

I understand all about weighing the value of a product in terms of what it costs including shipping. To me, getting a product for a low purchase price, and paying what seems to be excessive shipping charges, is still worth it if the overall price is good. Case in point is VVME. $35 to ship an HID kit may seem a little excessive, but for a total price of $72.99 it's a good buy.

HOWEVER...

I was just on their site to order replacement HIDs (mine died), and that's the price quoted for a new HID kit. Fine. I also want a pair of replacement bulbs in addition, to use with my existing ballasts in my foglights. The bulbs are $13/pair. Excellent. So when they can put them in the same box (and likely will), why the F*CK does it add $25 to the cost of shipping???? I mean come on, I'm sorry but that's bullsh*t. I'm actually tempted to buy somewhere else entirely just because of that. I have no problem with tacking on $5-10 if it's going in the same box, given that the purchase price of the bulbs is low, but an extra $25 to ship the same sized box with about 4 oz extra weight is just screwing people.

Thanks, I'm done now.

welcome to my world

I constantly have to deal with ppl who try to screw me up. I would suggest to change to go with someone else and buy a decent kit.

if you email them with your problem and ask them if they can offer you a better shipping rate, i'm sure they will. if they wont, then yeah, f*ck em, find another company.

Worth a shot for sure, but I also agree with CIA - if they're going to insist on that, then they can find someone else to buy the kit. It may be that it's an automatic thing on their website - product A gets a shipping cost of X, product B gets a cost of Y, and so forth, without regards to combining shipping. I'll email/call them and see what they'll do.

Yeah, VVME is renowned for their flexibility and willingness to negotiate.

Jeremy, why don't you see if that one guy from the link I sent you can send pics of whatever you need to determine compatibility.

The shipping charges are absurd. Whether the product price is good or not. It's like people on ebay selling a toothbrush for a dime and then getting $9.95 for shipping. It tricks people into hitting the bid button before they read the fine details.

I bought a set of Phillips ballasts and D2S bulbsfor my new housings. Haven't put them in yet, but as soon as it warms up and I repair the face-lift fog lighthousings I bought, I will be. That leaves a VVME 4300k set-up available. If you're interested, I'm sure we can work something out.

they send their kits in a box premade for a kit so the extra 2 bulbs wouldn't fit lol. i'll show you the box later when we meet up. i'll also show you what i had to do to install the HIDs.

My point is that in shipping the kit, there ought to be some extra room in the box they ship the kit in, say for padding with packing peanuts or something. If they're using boxes that fit like a condom over the box that the kit is in, I'm not sure if I'd want them anyhow - too easy to damage them. And yeah, I want to take a look at the wires on the bulbs to see if they're the same as what my Pilot kit came with. Cool See you at 3 at AutoZone? Check your PM

haha all they did was wrap the box in a paper bag looking thing and voila but everything inside the box stays put and the bulbs are incased in plastic shielding so there really can't be any damage done unless it's been thrown lol
