Default overhead courtesy light - need help

Tried changing the overhead courtesy light above the driver side sunpanel, as it is not working. I finally pulled hard enough and got the darn plastic assembly to pop-out. I changed the bulb, which didn't help.

Now on the left side, opposite of the electic plug in, the metal piece is bent, and the assembly can wiggle sits 'sloppy' in the hole.

I dont get it, as the electric plug protrudes from one side, and this metal piece protrudes on the other side, so there is no way to snap it back in the hole w/o bending the metal piece.

Can someone help here with getting it back in correctly as well as what else to look for to get this light working?

Thanks!

OK, that's not the "overhead courtesy light", what you want to fix is referred to as the "vanity light" and according to ALLDATA Online (an application we use at my shop) it is integrated into the sunvisor. When you need to repair it, the whole sunvisor must be replaced. I ran a search using my car as the vehicle type. For the future, can you add your vehicle type, model, engine size, anything you think will help us, etc... to your signature? You can change it in the control panel. Here's a picture of what ALLDATA gave me:
