Default Overheats only on load

Hi,

I have a problem with overhetaing my engine. Im running on a FrankenTurbo setup so im boosting alot. But when im pushing to much it overheats.

When it is overheated the hoses are very swollen and stiff and hot. Its almost like the coolant fluid is stucked somewhere. I have changed the thermostat to a new one but no change. It is almost like there is a plug in the system. The water pump was changed 2 yrs ago.
when i put my hand on the hose after the water pump. (the output from pump) its cool. almost as if the fluid stop in the pump.

Could this be bad pump? Some ppl are talking about blown head gasket puming gaspockets into the system. When i rebulded 2yrs ago the engine i re-used my old steel head gsket. som say this is not good?

If you have a clue leave an answer.

bad pumop, id say. pull the hose afrer the pump and turb the car over. Does coolant spray out?

Whne you did the rebuild did you atleast deck the head and block? Its not so much re using a head gasket is bad, its not having the head and block sit flush together that causes problems.

no he means did yo take the head to a machine shop and have the cylinder head shaved/milled to make the head surface flat and straight.

Theres your problemright there, not decking causes all sorts of unexplainable problems. Worked on a chevelle, had the same motor rebuilt 3 times because of over heating. Never decked the head. Once it was decked and done right, it works right....weird

Hows the intercooler? Its possible your just overflowing it and its not able to cool all the air and your shoving hot *** air into the engine.

Yes, I think you should eliminate the water pump as the problem before you pull the motor. Remove a hose on the discharge side of the water pump, and turn over the motor with the key and starter, but don't let it start, just see if coolant is pumped out. If not, that is your problem - the pump. Only try this with a cold motor and coolant.

JBJ, I hear you, but really, comparing anything on a historic US of A V8 and a German 1.8 has got to be a stretch.
