Painted Stock Wheels
This evening, I painted my stock wheels using Krylon Rust Tough Gloss Black Enamel. I also painted the calipers silver, then painted a silver lip on the rims and painted the tops of the lug nut covers with the same paint. It was dark by the time I had the wheels remounted so I don't have very good pictures, but you get the idea:

I'm loving it, and I hope you're going to post pics of them on the car tomorrow during the day. That should be a good look for the car - we need full-on-the-car shots

I'm excited to see how it looks in the daylight.
Eh, don't even sweat it. I painted my calipers on a 50 degree day with fairly high humidity and had zero problems. Or take them inside and paint
One nice thing about one side being done and the other not, is that you can take before-and-after pics that way to show the contrast.

This is going to be fun because I haven't posted pics of the one-piece headlights since I painted them black. I heart my Avant.
Well that's a good thing then - little luck there to help you out. I didn't clear my calipers, so I didn't run into that. I just brushed four coats and called it a day. Looking forward to the pics.
Concensus is to use a full can per wheel, so that the layers of paint can protect the finish. With several layers per wheel, if a stone kicks up and hits the wheel, even if it chips through a couple layers, there are still more underneath so you don't end up with silver spots on the finish. My bet is she did at least four coats - guess we'll have to wait to find out though.
