I need somehow to find the part number on my gas tank cap? i wouldnt know what else to call it, its not the exterior one where you actually put the gas in, but the one where inside the car you take the 3 screws out of the metal cover then remove it, you see that white cap with 2 hoses and an electrical connection. Thats the part i need is the number on it? i have searched parts geek and other sources and cant find the part so i am guessing i have to call the dealer and get it so i believe i might need a part number to avoid confusion.

That's the fuel pump access panel in the trunk. Go to www.vagcat.com, register your car, and use the number-referenced part diagrams there.
