hmm may try that but it says for interior use nothing about exterior. I dont know how itd hold up with the weather.

jking think that may be the best bet

"Cover hoods, roofs, bumpers, mirrors, or body trim panels. "

id assume itd hold up pretty good then if they advertise it this way

I was more worried about being able to get the vinyl smooth around the edges of the mirror cap. I would love to try it as long as it doesn't look like dog **** when I'm done lol

It'd be tough. Chris, did you notice the dry carbon wrap on my center console last time you were here? Mark (jiggleo) did it and did a great job. He tried doing his roof with it though and even the comparatively mild curvature made it about impossible. It doesn't follow compound curves well at all.

Actually it shouldnt be bad at all cause how would you do it when wrapping a car?
ill figure it out since it seems better then painting my stock ones

The carbon wrap is quite a bit thicker than the vinyl wrap people use to wrap a whole car.

i was planning on doing this before telling anyone of you... still just trying to get some maintenance done first

I've read through the spec sheet available online on the 3M 1080 series. I've been convinced that just doing the mirror caps should be good enough. Still worried doing a whole car though.... Check ebay first, more sizes and cheaper for the same product.

you won't be able to do mirror caps at all not with all the curves. I've been contemplating paitnign mine tho.

I did the carbon fiber wrap in my interior and the wrap was quite malleable. It contoured pretty well around the sharp corners of the interior trim. The guy who did the matte white wrap also did the mirror caps. I'll do it some day as a trial and let you guys know how well it applied and its resiliency to outdoor conditions. Just really need my control arms done first.

the wrap should work just fine on the mirrors if you are heating while applying it, it should work just fine. ill do this after the other things on the list(magnaflow, sts, staggered amg monoblocks, facelift lights..ect)
