Default Pentosin 11's

I need to drain then replace my power steering fluid and everyones been saying put in Pentosin 11's. I can't find that anywhere in the auto stores, what is it called Officially? Or what exactly should i look for. I have audi specific mineral fluid, would that work just as well? My fluids dark and thick which is bad. And if i drain the fluid out when the cars off, and then immediately fill it after, that wont hurt the rack or pump correct?

i don't think they sell them in stores. lift up the front end so the tires are off the ground, then drain, fill while turning the wheel. turn the wheel a bit more if you're senile about any air in the system. then start the car and turn the wheel some more, then drive

No that won't work too well because there's a lot more in the pipes and in the steering rack. The fluid that you need won't be found in autozone or anywhere. You have to get it from an Audi/VW dealer or online. Honestly it's best to change it once, drive for a few days then change it again. That way you get a lot more of it changed out.

Alright. Today i added some i had laying in my garage, its the hydrolic fluid from the VW Audi dealers in the container and everything. It was alittle low, but after filling it up and letting it run through it seems a bit smoother.

Agreed with compmanben. And yes, you have to buy it from a dealer. It's 11S, not 11's though - don't know how you're pronouncing it, but call it "eleven-ess" and they'll know what you mean Beware too though - it's NOT cheap. I paid about $13 for an amount roughly the same as the little milk cartons you got in the cafeteria in grade school.
