Picture of my Burnt Out Shield
Not sure if some of you guys saw a couple of pictures of my Audi and the Fire Dept a Month Ago. I finally was able to pull and replace The Sound Baffle that had caught on fire. The New Part does not have the Fiber behind the Shield. Thus, Oil can not be absorbed. I called the Dealer 3 Times and Getting Reassurance that there was no other section. Since I did not want to redo this work.
Any way, I had to spray some High Temperture Paint under the Car where the Paint had bubbled away. The New Shield went in much easier than I pulled the old one out. The Shift Linkage had to come out under the Car. I would not mess around with the one that is connected to the Transmission.
My Thing, Now, is to put everything back together. I am replacing everything that can be replaced in the Engine Compartment.
Right Now, I am Cleaning everything. All The Oil Sludge.. Repainted the Engine Block with High Temp Paint.
I need to get this baby back on the Road.
