Poke?
"poke" is when your wheels/tires poke out past the fenders, like this guy's:
He's also rocking some pretty serious stretch, which is putting narrow tires on wide wheels. This prevents them from rubbing on the fenders so you can get more poke and be lower

this silver avant has 8.5" et21 with 12mm spacer in the back, for reference. he's pretty flush in the front and poking a bit in the back
10-15mm spacing won't be flush on stock 7" wheels

that looks like a good way to get BAD curb rash if you have the rim past the tire like that.... i dont like the look of it tho.
My back tires stick out past the fender but the tires cover the full rim.

Kinda hard to see.. but is this what you mean? or does the tire have to be too small to "poke"

nah you've got it. the point of the small tires is so you can have as much poke as you, but still lower your car. say, for example, you wanted to put your car on coilovers. you wouldn't be able to lower it as much because the tires would grind on your fenders. make sense? so by adding "stretch" to the "poke" you get moar low.

nick: if you want the achieve flush, i'd say 10-15mm is a good guess. like others say though, your wheel bearings will absolutely hate you. as for poking, i wouldn't go that route unless you're going to run stretch. also your rear fenders would need to be rolled as the front are rolled front factory.
BTW - you can see my signature for "poke". Although I'm not as drastic when it comes to the poke (as others), you can see the wheel and tire are on the outer side of the fender instead of being flushed or within the fender.

Alright let me update this to be clear. Come spring time I want to bag my car. I want to put 17" wheels (I think.) on my car with maybe an 8" width. I'd rather my wheels be flush than poking, I was just curious. So play around with those dimensions I gave you aha.
