Default Possible Boost Issue?

So recently I've noticed that my boost is being weird. It's not sputtering or anything, it just peaks and then drifts off and each gear has different pressures(which I've had before, but this is more drastic). Here's a video showing what it's doing on my gauge. You can't see the numbers, but the gauge goes up to 30psi, so you can kind of get an idea.

The video is viewable now. Sorry, I didn't realize it was on private.

At what RPM are you shifting in that vid? That looks pretty normal to me, the stock turbo just runs out of breath at high RPM's and the boost falling off looks exactly like that. Have you done a boost leak test just in case?

I'm shifting at around 5k. Yeah I've done a boost leak test and have not found anything. I just figured I'd ask because it just seems weird to have varying boost by so much each gear.

Could be the tune as well. My max boost varies depending on what gear I'm in, but not as dramatically as it did in the video you posted. If you have vag com you could do a pull and log requested boost vs actual boost to get a better idea of what your ECU is doing.

I've been wanting to get the ebay VAG com and the basic software. Would those work for something like that?

Not sure to be honest, I've never used it. I don't know if the lite version will be able to log the blocks you'd need for a test like that.

I'll just have to buy the cable and find out for myself then I guess. To be continued...
