Default power steering problem? but its not the fluid

okay here what happen.....

it was 3am in the morning and i guess it was like 20 to 30 degress outside. my car didnt start so i jump it( think reason battery die cause the battery wasnt tight )

now the car start and i let it sit so it would warm up. i let it sit for 5min when i took off it was a bit*h!! it felt like a honda without power steering. i got scared so i shut off the car and call it a night.

Today when i got up i start up the car and it start right up but the steering wheel was tight as hell. only way the wheel turn when i slowly start moving. i only move the car in and out my driveway cause i didnt want do no damage.

i check the power steering fluid (2000 audi a4 1.8t Q the tank behind the driverside headlight and before the windshield wiper fluid tank ) it was full!!!

so what could be the problem?? power steering pump?

i think if it was the pump you would hear it. i've never heard of a PS pumping being totally dead and not making funny sounds. maybe you have water if the system and it's frozen which would prevent fluids from flowing. try warming up the car for a little longer and see if something happens.

it been cold here lately in philly. i say about a month now but my car was working fine. could it be a fuse too? i did jump my car a weird way. (use jumper cable on a extra battery and a jump box)
