problem... any ideas?

Default problem... any ideas?

i have a 1996 a4 2.8. it has noise coming from the left rear side of the car while im driving, i checked my exhaust to see if it could be jumping around and no its on the good, any ideas of what could be the problem? also my sunroof wont open seems like connection problems from the switch to the motor. idk new to audis. plz help thanks

For the sunroof, use the Search feature and search out "sunroof switch" - it's a common problem and an easy fix, and there is a lot of info out there. As for the noise, what kind of noise is it? When does it happen (when the engine is cold, when going over bumps, when turning left, etc)? That info will help us assist you in narrowing down the failure.

What kind of noise is it?

Possibly the rear window regulator.

thanks. the noise sounds like the exhaust is jumping around. like some banging not alot but it happens while im driving not stopped, any speed, im gunna take off the rear left tire to see if anything is loose or noticable. ill keep you posted. if you got any idea let me know, or need more info on what i mean by the noise.thanks guys

Default sunroof switch...

thanks for leading me the right direction for the switch all fixed.. just needed to be cleaned i guess lol. still cant figure out what could make that noise... could it be the top of the suspension, the bolts maybe not tightened down... gunna check and ill keep in touch.. thanks for the help.

Take a look at the swaybar end link. It's plastic and is a possible failure point. And other than that you're on the right track in checking loose bolts. Also inspect the bushings and control arm ball joints for wear - they'll cause similar noises too.

Yeap rear bushings in these cars tend to make noise, they don't necessarily always need to be changed, but the noise is annoying.
