I bought a new coolant tank from a local auto parts store because the old one was looking pretty old and yellow and was leaking a little from 2 little cracks on the bottom. Now with the new one it leaks from where the sensor hooks up. Is this a common problem? The clip is broken for the harness but it stays on when you press it in far enough. Is the orange gasket on harness itself designed to hold in coolant that comes out or is there not supposed to be any coolant coming out of there at all? I'm going to exchange it for another one to see if this one is defective and will cross my fingers. If not, I might just plug up that part with silicone and leave the sensor hanging because I'm tired of worrying about my coolant leaking.

 

Exchange it. The orange gasket is to weatherproof the contacts for the sensor.

 

Ok, thanks bro. I wasn't sure. I'm just glad it has a lifetime warranty.

Ok, so I exchanged it for another one and this one looks like it doesn't leak at all. Hopefully it'll stay that way. I can say it looks a hell of a lot better than the old one.
