Default Problems with 98 2.8L Auto Transmission. Please Advise

I have a 98 2.8L AT and a couple of days ago, when I turned on the car, the entire 'PRND432' screen on the gauge cluster was lit up. I didn't think much of it at first and then I started driving. When I dropped into reverse, it felt like it kicked into reverse and started stuttering. When I finally put the car into drive, the car wouldn't shift gears until I got to over 3000 rpms. I also noticed that the car wouldn't go into 5th gear. When I tried to put it into Tiptronic to shift into 5th, the tiptronic wouldn't work either. I am really trying to avoid a thousand+ dollar fix, so if anyone has any advice or has experienced this before, I am open ears.

youre in limp mode. disconnect the battery or at least 30 min. or more. see if it goes back to normal. b4 you do that make sure you have the radio code.

It went into limp mode about a week and a half ago, and this last monday, I did the DIY for the headlight switch and had to disco the battery so that the airbag wouldn't blow up in my face, and when I reconnected the battery, it was still in limp mode. Are there any other relatively cheap suggestions?

I have a 2000 audi a6 with the same exact problem, the code i got was p0757, Shift Solenoid B Stuck On, i'm planing to get it fix some day next week, i searched all over the internet and i found the solenoid to be $124.00 the cheapest. As soon as i get a price from my mechanic i'll let you know how much it was.. which im hoping wont be that expensive. ((hopefully))

if i stop at a light, and try to accelerate my car's rpm revs. but not my mph, i really have to step on the gas so the car can change to the first gear, which makes me feel like im hurting my car, as soon as it gears up to the following gears it runs normal, even though the check engine light is on and the guage is lit up like if it was at all gears at once.. just like yours. sometimes i would even turn the car on and then off and it would stop doing it for a little while, i would go by a half block when everything lit up even my check engine light.

If that's the problem, I have 3 or 4 different controllers on the spare parts shelf in my garage. Let me know what the numbers on the front are and if I have the right one I can save you a boatload - those things are hellishly expensive from a dealership.

It's under the carpet on the passenger side in front of the seat. Pull the carpet back and you'll see a black case in a well with a cable going into it. Open the case and the silver module inside is the controller.

As for price, I've heard dealer prices around $1600 on this forum (as other members have been quoted). I have 3-4 different ones in ESD bags on a shelf in my garage - if you need one, let me know. I need the number off the unit that begins with "8D0". I've got them listed in the classifieds here for $150 each.
