Default Programming remote!!

I'm getting really frustrated trying to reprogram my remote for keyless entry. I just replaced the batteries and forgot about having to reprogram it. I have tried every way people have said that it works but it doesn't. I looked in the manual and it gives a horrible expination how to do it (if that). Anyone have a way THAT WORKS?? I have 2 key fobs and 1 valley key. Neither of the key fobs work. This is really pissing me off!!

Yep, been in your place....I had to actually go through vagcom and recode my key positions. It was painful, but I just called rosstech and spoke with a rep who actually had a 98 a4 and used to work at the dealer, it was a lady and she was pretty cool. I would speak with her if thats not too broad of a description she was super helpfull. You can reset the central locking system key fob position's in vagcom and start from scratch which usually works. Once this is done you just reprogram like everyone has spoken about.

I don't have vagcom or access to it.. I would rather not go to the stealership if I didn't have to. I'd rather just manually use my key then pay over $100.

Got it! I guess having your batteries in the right way helps.
