PS Rack: ZF or Koyo?
Hi all,
I need to replace the power steering rack on my 98 A4 1.8T Quattro, but I'm not sure whether it's a ZF or Koyo rack. Is there any way to tell without hoisting the car and looking at the rack itself?
Also, has anybody used www.rackdoctor.net? The prices are certainly right, but I'm not sure how trustworthy they are. I emailed the guy there and he said the ZF and Koyo racks are interchangeable - can anybody comment on this?
Thanks in advance!

Update: According to the dealer I called, the Koyo & ZF racks are NOT interchangeable. They also won't be able to tell you which rack you have based on the VIN unless you have an '02 or newer.
I ended up figuring it out by jacking up the car and looking up and back from just inside the driver's side wheel. From the right angle I could see the Koyo sticker.
No idea about Rack Doctor - I bought mine from http://www.carsteering.com. They have excellent reseller ratings and a 3 year warranty on their racks.
