Ah stoopid, my bad. I gotta stop posting at 2:30 in the morning. I should be sleeping. Yes, you are correct. The heater core is leaking if coolant is making it's way into the cabin. I edited my first post, but I did get it right in post #8!

The heater core is what's leaking if you've got coolant in the cabin. The air temp. is regulated by a blend door in both auto and manual HVAC systems. The blend door directs air over or around the heater or evap (A/C) cores to get warm or cool air. The coolant is always flowing through the heater core, but won't get hot until the engine warms up.
