Default Question about window issues....

So for the past couple weeks ive noticed when I go to roll my passnger window up-it'd go up about 2inches and thn drop back down. Then id jus roll it down all the way and back up fine.

Yesterday-i rolled it up and it popped. Heard plastic falling inside the door. My,question is-what may I be lookn,at,here by,repairs? Difficult to do? Thnx fellas

First I want to say it seems like if the thread isn't interesting enough to most people on here it's not worth answering too! Anyway it sounds like your window regulator has failed! Be careful as I just finally figured out yesterday why mine doesn't work and its because 2 of the regulators are destroyed cables are messed up and plastic is broke idk how hard it's going to be to fix but it doesn't look that easy

Yea....noticed it seemed short and all over the place. Minds not in the right at the moment.

Anywho......i forgot to mention that I have to pull the window up by hand (window controls are nonresponsive) when it falls down......and it falls on its own while driving. I have gay *** gorilla tape holdn it up right now. There is literally no resistence on holding the window up. I dont know **** about the inside of an Audi door. Never removed an Audi door panel before. And im not a fan of window regulators, windows being off track, etc etc.

yup. window regulators have failed in all cases. guna have to drill out pop rivets and get a rivet gun to reinstall the pop rivets for the window regulator.

And i tried a lil researchn on that....is it really compleatly necessary to remove the inner and outer door skin and remove the entire window frame(upper whole portion of door and all....) and then rivet it back

No. You leave the outter skin in place with the door structure itself. You remove the four big torx bolts on the ends of the door (you'll see them after you remove the door panel) and the whole thing lifts right out of the door.

PM me if you just want a used regulator. I've got the whole thing I'd sell you. Worked fine when I took it off my front pass door.
