Hey guys, I was in a bit of a hurry when buying oil for my oil change today and I wanted to make sure I got the right stuff. I got mobil1 5w 30 full synthetic. The owners manual says only to use oil that says "API SF or SG" however on the back of the stuff I bought it says "ILSAC GF-4...API SM, SL/CF"

Will it be safe to put this in my engine?

 

Yes. SM supersedes any letter before it. They are just newer standards.
