Radio memory error?
So my battery died earlier today. No big deal, there's an Advance right down the street. Get the new battery, swap it in, and go to put my radio code in so I can get it out of safe mode...only the radio won't let me. I push SCAN and RBDS at the same time, and nothing happens. So I scanned the radio control module and it showed two codes. One for low voltage (presumably from when the battery died), and one that said "Internal memory checksum error." Anybody ever see this before? Any idea what I can do to try to fix it?
I know ECS has new Symphony radios for like $40 but I'd rather not go a week without a radio

Lol I figured that was the case, just wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone had ever heard of this before. My dad suggested I disconnect the battery and touch the leads together to discharge all the capacitors and stuff and see if that helps.
This always seems to help with a quick fix electronic related. People argue and make a big deal saying its bad for the car but in all reality I personally do it and haven't fried an ECU or any other component. Its good for clearing check engine lights without a scanner or vagcom
I haven't had time to **** with it yet, but in the event that my radio is dead does anyone have any recommendations for aftermarket double din radios? I've been cruising the classifieds here and on the zine for an RNS-D/E but haven't been able to find one, so now I'm thinking aftermarket. I'd rather not break the bank but what about somethin like this?
Pioneer - 50W x 4 MOSFET Apple® iPod®-/Satellite Radio-/HD Radio-Ready DVD Deck - AVH-P1400DVD

LOL I do that sometimes! That should be in "You know you are a B5 owner" thread.
@CCA4 just my opinion. I think radios that have volume and scan ***** are better.
