Rear Speaker Wiring
im looking for a thread on this too. my 2001 b5 has powered speakers. according to crutchfield you'll need a separate amp for your new speakers. makes sense except the wiring all has the same guage wires...we need help on the color code to separate out the 12v drive from the audio. we alo need to know if the audio is low level...and if it is you need to jury-rig on some rca connectors to run to an amp.
my reason to get to this post is i want some good power in the trunck for my big *** sub amp. looking for a thread on this...
mayb\e someone direct us to some threads? ill keep searching...ill post my findings here

Ok you're asking two seperate questions. As far as the rear deck speakers go you do not need another amp, it just cut off the stock connector and connect the two wires to the two wires/connections on the speakers. As far as the sub goes, the best way to do this is have a second amp and run all the power to the battery/other source, then just run the Audio RCA's to your headunit.
