Rear view mirror

Rear view mirror
I went to the stealership and paid 125 for them to mess up my rear view mirror and a carwash. I noticed that there's a huge air bubble in my rear view mirror so I can't see at all. Is there a protective film or did they put one, because I couldnt find the edge of it to take off the film if it really is.

There is gell inside the mirror that automatically dims when light hits it. If the gel is leaking it will look nasty on the mirror. Also make sure none of that gell hits anything below it, like the radio A/C control head etc. It eats that crap up.

Its probably just a coincidence, tough pill to swallow im sure, but there is nothing they could have done to the mirror to make it leak. Thats probably not gonna stop you from trying to get it for free though.

It happened in their hands, so im they should be liable. ALso a coincidence that I was pissed that they didn't find the problem with my turbo and acceleration and it took them 2 days when they set the appointment and told me it would take one day. THey didn't even call, I had to call them and ask if it was done.

Well, I went there and talked to manager and ****, but they didn't want to replace it so i guess its just a mere coincidence that it happend when they had it. IT would have cost them 400 (cost of dimmer mirror) but now I wont go there anymore and won;t buy my future car there so it will cost them even more.
Anyways, haha, I'm going to replace it with a regular rear view mirror. I looked at this one and it seems like there are wires going to the top of the car. How do take down the rear view mirror without cutting the wires or whatever is going to the top of the car?

well of course they wouldnt "WANT to replace it" but who would?? haha you have to MAKE them replace it! get in his face and tell him that it was perfectly fine before... now its not! say "whats it to you man... is satisfying a customer going to get you fired? Is this going to come straight out of YOUR paycheck?" or something along those lines... and also mention that you will not be buying your future car there or going there to have any other repairs done and you will tell EVERYONE you know and EVERYONE in the audi community in the area (local forum, or here!) that that place is a pile of **** and tries to slim people out of covering their ***...
you cant just ASK them to replace it, you have to be stern, and stand up for yourself and force it into their head that it will be well worth their 400% markup (or more) for a auto dimming mirror that (say this part again... louder and closer to his face) WAS PERFECTLY FINE YESTERDAY... WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN
haha just ranting i guess... good luck next time!

The wires have a clip under the trim against the glass. no need to cut the wire just unclip it. After its unclipped i believe its a counter clockwise 1/4 turn to unhook the mirror from the glass. Reverse for install.
