Default Red courtesy lights not working in driver's side only. Any ideas?

The two doors are junk yard replacements, but I only used the shells. I ran all of my stock wiring and used my old door panels.

Everything else works fine (windows, speakers, dome lighting, locks) on both doors, but I can't figure out why the red (in door) courtesy lights won't work (bulbs have been tested and are good).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Does the footwell light also not come on? I'm currently dealing with the same thing, except somehow installing LEDs has made it work 90% of the time instead of 10% like it was before. My best diagnosis so far is a short somewhere in the door harness, but I've pulled it once already and found nothing.

Yes: The foot well light works (now).

I used to have a few that were out, but when I did the LED swap, every light began working except for those two.

I can't figure it out. All wiring looks good.

Check the voltage and the ground at the light to tell you what wire to trace. Expect 12v pos to one wire ground at the other. You must have your volt meter at a good 12v source to determine if the ground is bad. It can be possible a poor connection could read good testing and still not work. If this is the case it has a voltage drop when current is trying to go through the circuit.. Also the wire at the hinge can break from opening and closing the door for 14 years.

LED bulbs take less current so a poor connection to the socket might let an LED work where the regular bulb would fail.

I never thought of that, might explain why mine suddenly started working after I installed LEDs.

A4turboguy, if you want to start tracing wires and figuring this out I can send you a wiring diagram of the circuit. It's laid out really weird so it might help you understand how the whole thing works.

+1 I'll try that.

Didn't work for me on either bulb.

I wonder if they're run in series.
