Door panel lights aren't working--any ideas?
2006 2.0T quattro sedan. On my driver's door, all of a sudden the panel lights quit working. Both the switch panel as well as the lock panel lights are no longer illuminating. At the same time, the driver's window quit going up/down. The rest of the windows work from that main switch panel as well as the lock/unlock functionality. It's just the lights and the one window. I think the two are related and suspect maybe a broken wire or short in the wiring harness? Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas of where to look first?
UPDATE: For anyone else chasing a similar problem, it was the control module for the door. Problem is, it's permanently affixed to the window motor, so I had to have the entire window motor replaced. Seems to have cleared up all my driver's door gremlins.

Not happened to me. I would check where the wire goes from the door to the car body to see if anything is broken there. Use a test light and see power is getting to there. If so then take of the door panel and look in there. If power isn't getting to there than check back to the fuse block.

Thanks for the tips. I decided I didn't want to chase an electrical gremlin and since it had to go in for something else, I just had the shop look at it. They said it's some control module in the door--$600.
Now if I could just get rid of this stupid CEL, but that's a whole other story...
