Default resonator options?

Looking into resonators to mellow out my exhaust a little bit, and was wondering what all you guys are using. car is an 01' 2.8 and I have the mid muffler deleted entirely, and the rear muffler is a magnaflow 14185. Now, i love the way it sounds now, the volume, the tone, its aggressive and maybe im weird but the pop/crackle on decel never gets old to me. but the problem im running into is the drone. when im going for a "spirited" drive it doesnt bother me, the load and higher rpm pretty much kills the drone. but, on the day to day, just normal driving and at 60mph (which is 90% of my drive to work) the drone is almost mind numbing. i have a road trip coming up at the end of the month and i dont think i can deal with it for 12 hrs straight. is anyone out there running a similar muffler with a resonator that has some feedback on this matter?

Look into a vibrant resonator. They sound great and can be had for a reasonable price online. ImTheDevil is running one on his 2.8 with a magnaflow muffler and it sounds fantastic

perfect. ill have to check into it. i have no doubts it sounds like sex, i was originally trying to find a vibrant axle-back for the longest time but didnt have any luck. hopefully he chimes in on this. i would love to hear a sound clip or something. i really dont want it to be any quieter or change it much, just eliminate the drone. maybe im asking for too much though

Vibrant has plenty of options, it'll just be a matter of finding one that suits your needs:

I messaged you back. I'll try and get a video clip in the car and if it captures it well, I'll get it to you.

^ yeaah post a video up! I'm wondering if just going with stock piping then a 14816 muffler will be good enough or put in a glasspack in as well.

^i have a 14815. i installed just the muffler and left the stock resonator and everything in the first time. it was a little louder, more toned, but still pretty quiet and not very aggressive. i pulled the resonator out and replaced it with pipe about a month ago and its loud. its super aggressive and pops and crackles a lot. sounds pretty damn good. but the drone on the highway is almost unbearable. this is on a 30v also

This is in the driveway, max RPM about 4000. I'll get some more driving soon.

Here's one more, getting on the highway on ramp in 2nd and 3rd gear, half to 3/4 throttle, window down about halfway. The Magnaflow/Vibrant setup is a great sounding system and wasn't expensive, even including the 2.5" pipe fabrication and install. I'd recommend it for any 30v car.
