Can someone help? Im in need of torque specs for the connecting rods and main bearing caps on my 97 Audi A4 quattro 2.8 v6...Ive been all over the web and getting alot different specs .. One site said 29.80 nm than 90° for both rods and mains . another said 29.80 nm than 90° for rods 60 lbs for mains ... Im stumped.. audi dealers wont help...

 

Torque Specs-

Rod Caps- 30nm plus 90 degrees

Main Caps- 60nm plus 180 degrees (This is assuming you 97 2.8 is a 12v. I doubt it is a 30v, but those are only 60nm plus 90 degrees. Big difference.)

These numbers are out of my Hayne's manual. Make sure all studs/bolts/nuts are always replaced. Germans love stretch bolts and they are only good for one use.
