Default 2.8 with 4 bolt mains?

I was reading through another forum and a guy on there claims to have a 2.8 30v AHA with 4 bolt mains. As far as I knew these motors had 2 bolt mains. Were some 4 bolt instead or is this a popular mod?

I have no idea, haven't really dug into the 2.8L block that much, if you have a 30V 2.8L give me your VIN number and i can post a pic of what elsa web has of your crank assembly.

This simply means that each main cap that holds the crank in the block is only held on by 2 bolts. I contacted the person in question and because the 2.8 and 2.7T blocks are so similar, all you have to do is drill and tap the outers holes and you now have 4 bolt mains which are much stronger. Im not sure but I assume he just used the S4 main caps.
