Royal Purple Synthetic

+1 Mobil one. I know a guy who does circle track on weekends and that's all he'll use. Says it's better than Royal Purple and that royal purple just does the best marketing and uses high prices to make us think we're getting the best. Haha I mean it's not bad stuff, just not as good as Mobil 1.

i was using amsoil for a long time, but this last oil change i seafoamed and started running royal purple xps, to me it blew amsoil out of the water, 3 quarts rp xps, 1 bottle lucas synthetic oil stabilizer, in my tranny i have mobile 1 super syn in there smoothest shifts i ever had.

I use royal purple 10w 30 in my Z , and it works great but they are discontinueing the royal purple oil... i dont see why you could go wrong in the Audi!

discontinuing RP? How come? Where'd you hear that? With all the advertising you see for them you'd think they were doin just fine

I've used Redline and RP and never had complaints about either. A friend of mine uses RP exclusively in his fleet (800hp Supra, modded 3rd gen RX7 and modded 300ZXTT, and his Evo 8) as well, with no bad results or press ever. Never saw them get any bad press at all.

Yeah i bought 4 quarts of the regular RP today. We'll see how everything goes. Not going to go with XPS until i get some money into the engine... Are there any local parts stores that carry the special socket to take off the drain/fill plug for the tranny?
