Default Running rough

drove 90 miles today. Parked car for a few hours. Began drive home, while accelerating on the freeway the car began to run rough and the engine light came on. When accelerating it just didn't want to get up and go like usual. When idoling, it was "knocking" and running very rough. It almost felt like it was missing. My car is an 01 1.8T with 111,000. what do you think?

thanks for the reply. It's blinking. After letting it sit for a little while, it started fine and idled fine but then began to run rough again after giving it a few rpms.

its a misfire, you'll need a new coilpack

when you get the code scanned it will tell you which cylinder is misfiring, and then you just need to replace the corresponding coilpack and it should fix it

to check the coilpack you just switch two of the coilpacks and if it follows the coil its the coil, if it stays in the same cylinder, its the plug
