Talking Seafoam?

I hope I don't get lit up for asking. But this thing has a **** ton of miles on it and I had great success with Seafoam and my 96 VW Jetta.

Should I Seafoam this SOB? Pros vs Cons guys.

buy two cans,
1 whole can goes into gas tank prior to fill up
split the second can in half, one half goes into the crank case.
take the remaining half, and divide it in half again.
unhook your brake vacuum booster and dribble one of the halves in while the car is running, when that is expended, dump the second half in so that the car dies "if it doesn't die, turn the car off".
wait 15 minutes, then turn the car on again, it's going to struggle while the crap clears off the plugs. It's going to make a huge cloud of white smoke when she finally fires back up. now take the car out and run the **** out of it, this will blow all the crap the seafoam just loosened up out, and you are done.

that time frame is too long, only about 5 minutes is good. if you wait too long the seafoam will soak into the carbon that is built up and it will be misfiring longer than it takes to clear the smoke out.

another thing is you need to pour it in slow, not to the point where itl die. doing so can cause auto ignition, thus dieseling the motor. ask me how i know... did this on a subaru and went to turn it off and it continued to run for 2-3 seconds afterwords.

you can get seafoam in a spray can, then remove the intercooler pipe from throttle body and place nozzle in the throttle body and put the pipe back on. have someone hold the gas peddle down so that rpms are between 2500-3k. and spray for about 5 minutes. then shut car off, remove seafoam nozzle from throttle body. then start car and go for a drive, make sure to drive it hard. this method is easier than the brake booster method because you wont lean out the motor and the seafoam will spread more evenly through the runners.

This is how I usually do it. Just was curious as to what I should be cautious of if I was to do it on this car.

Looks pretty straight forward.

Just read the bottle which outlines everything you should do.
