You are correct, almost everything is made in china these days so that does not necessarily it is a bad product. However a no name-product that is 1/5th the price of a name brand that's a made in china is a completely different story

Looks like a quality product to me

$300/50yds=$2/ft...not bad

 

On a serious note, my company manufactures all of our mechanical hardware and electronics in China. The results are mostly good though quality control on the electronics side is mixed. The key, in my opinion, is constant oversight and communication.

Our engineering staff are on the phone with China twice a week and every day via email and IM. We have a solid manager onsite and our USA staff visit China once a month or so.

Without this level of management and accountability, I can only guess that the results would be mediocre. For precision equipment, mediocre doesn't cut it.
