Default SERVICE INSP dash light

Hello,

Where the mileage is located on the dash, my car now displays Service INSP. I was just wondering exactly what this means, I have 88k on my 99.5 A4 currently. Please help and thanks everyone.

it just means you should take it to the dealership and get raped again. but in reality it doesn't mean anything. there's a way to reset it and it comes back every 10k. idk the way to do it on your year but i'll do some searching for ya

I have this light as well. First it was the oil reading shortly after I changed the oil, now its this INSP light. Should i consider taking it into a shop or just reset it?

Why would you consider taking it into a shop over reseting it yourself.........for free....?

Is there any way to do it by yourself with a 96? Everything that I see is for the newer models.
