Default Shifting / Clutch Issues A4

I bought a 1996 A4 Qm w/72k (90% city according to the 1 previous owner) on the odo. After about 2500 mi I noticed a bit of clutch slippage and by 3k it was gone and left a rank smell in its wake. I (with my dad) installed a new aftermaket (upgraded) clutch. We used an alignment tool, IT'S NOT IN BACKWARDS (see some other guy's post), and marked the shift linkage. It's all back together & after about 2 hours of bleeding the hydro line I still have issues. I can shift into any gear with the car off but once I start it I am unable to put the car in gear. I feel like I have use of clutch but am unable to shift. Any help please.

SouthBend Stage 3. I had no issues until clutch burned out & was easy on it when I noticed the slipping. IME slaves don't go out that easy (& quickly)but this is my 1st Audi MT.

Stock flywheel or LWFW and do you remember if you ordered a unsprung disk or sprung disk?

I'm half way wondering if there A) isn't still air in the lines as it has about 4 dozen 90% angles in which air can get stuck or B) the linkage is off if the rear drive rotated 1/8-1/4". Any guesses? I'm gonna put a new slave cylinder on it as a precaution (though I belive it's ok the car does have 75k on it and wouldn't hurt for only $75) but I still think it's something else and you appreciate any feedback or imput from someone who has suffer the same issue I am having.

That is most likely your issue. A unsprung disk must be used withthe stock dual mass flywheel. There just isn't enough room for a standard sprung disk to fit with the stock flywheel.

You might need to pull the trans back out and see if it is a sprung disk. Also check your order to see if you did place an order for a clutch kit for a stock flywheel. If you took any pics of the parts that were in the box you might want to look at them to see what disk you installed.
