but the rmk prolly isnt efi. it might be but its stupid to have efi on a mountain sled cause there is always a change in elevation so you NEED to rejet. unless he is runnning a boondocker system it isnt likely thats its efi. plus im from minnesota where arctic and polaris are made. did you know the guy that started arctic started polaris first? he made all the mistakes first then moved on to a superior machine. sorry but arctic FTW!!!!

you have no mods on your car running 91 wont hurt it at all. you wont get anymore power running a higher octane fuel. in actuality if you put 87 in it chances are you wouldnt even notice the difference. (i wouldnt do it though)

OBDII cars (1996 and up) are all required to be able to run up to 10% Ethanol. Regular gasoline as we know it is E10 or 10% Ethanol. If the 91 w/o ethanol is 50 cents more a gallon, you're wasting your money. Run regular 91, 92, or 93.

As long as he doesn't live in CA it wont hurt seeing that our cars run fine on our craptane 91 octane which is worse then the 87 octane most people outside of CA can get from the pump.

I've been running 91 here all the time, but have noticed that Sunoco offers 94 here...I'm not too sure if this is anymore optimal then the 91 tho, b/c audi simply says to run 87AKI/91RON "or better". I understand that higher octane fuel is useless unless a race program and/or engine/ecu is designed to operate on it, but do you think the stock engine may be designed to operate anymore optimally on 94 than 91, since audi has phrased it this way? I am not concerned with performance gains here at all, but rather just ensuring that I am not losing out on the optimal performance of the vehicle.

Why is this thread still going? A stock car, even a chipped car will see little difference between 91-93 octane. As for SA and their 92oct, i have run it many times and there is no issues with it. If the pumps have ethenol in it, they will have a HUGE sticker by the pump letting you know that it does. There is no harm in running E10-E15 gas, the only thing is you may see is a drop of mpg by 1mpg give or take.

Dude, its pump gas, just about anywhere is fine along as the owner isnt dumping crap in it to increase profit

Well that depends on the "chip". A 93 octane chip can not run CA 91 without pinging like a bitch. If the chip is over tuned for lets say east coast 91 it will make more power with 93/94 octane because the ecu will pull less timing to take advantage for that tune.

I never said anything about running a 93chip on 91, i said the difference in performance isnt that significant. Its like 5hp or something small. This isnt an evo where that 2 oct points can change a noticable amount of whp.

Actually if a car is over tuned for an octane you are running so that it pulls a good amount of timing the car will see a nice gain in tq/hp with a little more octane.

How bout a 100 octane DD? Filling up with 14/15 gallons 100 is safe with the 100octane tune?
