Default silly exhaust question

I wanna get this exhaust set up
A4 B5 1.8T Quattro 1996 - 2001 Stainless Steel Catback Exhaust VW VORTEX FORUM | eBay

I really don't have a need for a new down pipe or any desire to deal with cel's or anything of that sort. I know someone in town who will pay $125 for the downpipe section of the exhaust.

will the mid muffler piping and muffler weld up directly into the stock spots pretty easily and go right back to the stock downpipe and cats easily?

Looks like the way they built that, it wouldn't bolt up to your stock downpipe. Adding that downpipe won't throw a CEL since you're not touching the catalytic converter

Really cca4 there wouldn't be any cel? I really wanna get the exhaust I just don't wanna deal with emissions in a couple months. I realize there are ways to trick the o2 into not going off but don't wanna deal with it.

Correct. That's a "cat-back" exhaust, meaning it doesn't start until AFTER the catalytic converter. Adding that won't cause any kind of emissions problems or check engine lights.

Thanks for the quick response, i just got done last night replacing two rear wheel bearings and I can hear myself think again so it was time to buy a exhaust!

Just didn't want to mess with emissions type problems because I only plan to bring the car to revo stage 1 tune and then exhaust, then most likely will leave it. I have a faster car I could daily if i really wanted (my parents want to sell there mazdaspeed 6)

The downpipe connects to the end of the cat. A test pipe replacing the cat is what would throw a cel (if your tune doesnt delete it).
