Default Slave Cylinder Mounting Bracket Missing...

New Audi owner here. I just finished replacing the master and slave cylinders on the b5 I purchased and noticed that the slave cylinder was missing the metal mounting bracket. I tried searching around and have only been able to find a replacement from ECS, but I'm not sure it is the same as the factory bracket. From looking at the setup, the bracket seems necessary to hold the slave in place, but I'm not sure. The previous owner must have removed the bracket at one point, unless I'm mistaken and the car didn't come with the bracket....Can anyone shed some light/suggestions on this?

Thanks in advance!

Note: I purchased the car knowing that the slave was already shot...so maybe the reason the slave failed was because of the unstable mounting due to the missing bracket?

Is there a pick-n-pull or similar near you? For a more obscure part like that I would think going to that sort of business/junk yard would be your best bet. You could find the exact piece and it would cost all of $5.

There are a couple of junk yards, but inventory is tough. But that's probably the best shot I have.

Is it part #: 8E0721487B

(or revisions: 8E0721487A; 8E1721487; 8E1721487A; 8E0-721-487-A; 8E1-721-487; 8E1-721-487-A)

I looked at OEM Audi Parts & Accessories at Jim Ellis Audi Parts who has a diagram of basically every part of an audi so try searching there (or any parts diagram location) if it's not the right part.

THANK YOU elduderino200! That is exactly what I needed...I'm just going to buy one instead of wondering if it's necessary, better safe than sorry!
