my front driver side speaker (BOSE) is playing very quiet and is making a buzzing sound
does that mean it is dead and i need to get it replaced?

 

Probably, although it could be a dead channel on the amp. A replacement should be easy enough to find though, whether it's the speaker or the amp - there are always quite a few cars being parted out in the various classifieds forums on this and other Audi sites.
