Speed dependent vibration/hum

Speed dependent vibration/hum
I have an issue that my 1998 A4 1.8T vibrates or hums noticeably from the front left suspension/wheel area. Below 10 mph it is not noticeable but as I accelerate it amplifies in direct proportion to the speed increase.
Initially I assumed it was an out of round tire or rim but I just got brand new tires and rotation (I needed them anyways) and the problem persists. I thought outer CV joint would maybe be the culprit but I wasn't sure if that would be speed dependent and it happens when I am going perfectly straight (alignment is good.)
It does sound louder during right hand turns, and during higher speed left hand turns it almost goes away.
Anyone able to point me in the right direction? I have a capable relative who can fix/install anything but I need to know what the issue is before I devote money and time to getting the car to his house and before I look into buying parts.
Thanks in advance!

Fair enough
I'm seeing that without proper tools it may be a PITA to do myself. Probably just drop the cash at a shop and have them do it. What do you suppose it would cost to get both front bearings replaced? And will this be an "Audi Dealer" thing or do other places work on that kind of stuff too?
(I haven't had my car long so first time getting it serviced was today getting new tires)
