Get the k04 having anything to do with a BT terms out of your head. The k03 chip will work fine w/ a k04. You wont see much if any gains though just by upgrading the turbo.

well when i asked oliver a few months ago about the chip before the gb was started cause i was going to get one, he told me it was stage II, so i asked if there was Stage III and he said it was a BT file as if i were to get a K04

i know a k04 isnt a bt, i was just saying do i need different software for a k04

You don't need a k04 specific tune unless you want to see gains above your chipped k03.

Jack up passanger side
Remove belly pan if you still have it
Look next to the AC compressor and it's sitting right there in the turbo plumbing
Remove the 2 big hose clamps and pull it out
Remove the small vac line 1 time use clamp and vac line
Replace (you can use a zip tie in place of the old vac line clamp

Pay attention to the way it was installed so the new one goes in the same direction.

Gotta agree with Hiwords on this one regarding the feel of the 2.8 with the chip. When I drove his car last night, I could feel a difference in the car for sure. It definitely felt more eager to go and pulled very smoothly, even at part throttle. Not being my car, I didn't floor it but I did get into it about half-throttle (we were in a residential area after all) and it got to speed in no time - the midrange torque gain is for real. The best way I can think to describe the difference would be accelerating with the AC on in the summer vs nailing it in cool weather with the AC off - the car just picks up much more easily. Peak gain of course is only going to be a few hp but I could believe claims of 15 lbs of torque in the midrange easily. Very nice mod - I wish I'd been able to get in on the buy, but I'll be doing this mod regardless as soon as I can arrange another car for a few days, or until I have the time to make a day trip to the Baltimore area to get the computer flashed at SpeedTuning. I'm impressed with it.

You can always type in "audi a4 chip" on ebay and find ST's ebay store. It's only a little bit more than the GB price but doesn't include overnight back shipping.
