All I can say is I'm sorry for the disappointment. If you have the means to borrow a car if needed then it could be worse. Keep us updated.

Just got my ECU in the mail today. Sorry to hear that someone is having a bad experience but for me, it's not the best but it could always be worse. Yes, Oliver could have gone out of his way to call or email me telling me when he sent it out but knowing that he has a lot of other ECU's to flash and what not, I don't expect him to give full service for half price. In any case, I double checked my ECU and it is the exact same one I sent in so that's a relief. However, being the skeptic I was, I was thinking how we know if it has been truly flashed or not. Well, I installed the ECU right back into the car and started it up. First thing I noticed was a lot better throttle response and definitely more power. Overall I'm very satisfied with the service, product and performance.

Now I have a few questions and hope that some of you can help me with it. I have a tiptronic and with this new ECU when I floor it, the engine chokes and stutters. Is it b/c the ECU is still adapting/learning or is it b/c of something else such as my stock diverter valve not being able to hold the pressure? Or could it be my transmission?

If it is indeed the ECU adapting, it may be something that goes away with time but the peace of mind knowing ahead of time can relieve the worry that it's something else gone wrong.

Thanks for the heads up. I ran a scan with the free version of Vagcom and got these fault codes:
3 Faults Found:
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low
P1602 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16684 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P0300 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent
16686 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
P0302 - 35-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent
Readiness: 0010 0101

I haven't received them before so this is the first. It must have something to do with the new ECU. The first fault code is probably that the battery was disconnected. The second and third are cylinder misfires. I'm going to delete them and see if they come back up in a few days.

P0302 is misfire on cyl 2 I think and p0300 is multiple random missfire. I'm not 100% but that's off top of my head

Yup, that's right. I looked them up on the wiki page for Vagcom.

could just be adapting or ICM. i just got mine in today and i absolutely love it. upstatenya4 (jeremy) drove my car and he loves it too. i can't help flooring it anymore. some of it is due to the placebo effect from driving my dad's highlander for the past week but most of it is actually felt. i dont' have to shift at 3k in first anymore to get enough rpm in 2nd to go up a little hill. it can't really be explained but you rly feel a major difference in the 1k-3k range where most of your driving was done. i'm sure most of you will floor the car quite a bit the first few days or weeks you have the chip. for 160 bux for the chip and shipping both ways, it's a super deal for what you get. if anybody has money in the future and there's a group buy going on, def go for it unless you're going BT.

Upgrade your dv and go from there. If it's leaking it's possible for you to be running rich which may cause a misfire. If it was your ICM, you'd have nasty misses at any engine speed as opposed to only under heavy load (what year do you have again?) Won't hurt to swap the coil pack from cyl.2 to a different cyl. to see if the misfire follows.

question, if i get a K04 will the flashed software be good or do i need to get a BT file from speedtuning. i was going to go to a place where i can buy a brand new k04 and have it installed and they do the pc-16 giac file for about 1.7k
