Default spring bolt on rear brake causing constant pad friction

while replacing my rear brakes on my 2001 1.8L a4 one of the two spring bolts that hold the caliper in place wasnt springy. i had to beat the caliper on after replacing the pads. the outside pad always makes contact with the rotor and was riding it pretty hard. will i get away with this?

what spring bolt? the caliper is held on by caliper pins. these are floating calipers. did you set up the caliper properly when you replaced the pads? i don't understand why it needed to be beat back on, there's plenty of room when the piston is all the way in the caliper

its the stock caliper. when you take out the two bolts that hold it on, the nuts have spring action to them. the bottom one didnt spring back in, so the caliper had to be squeezed over the outermost pad and the part that the bolt threads into.
