it would be cool to have a new ranking system, not sure if the ranks really make much difference even. we should be able to give like a thumbs up/thumbs down to users' posts and the number of ups/downs determines some kind of rank (kinda like a video game where posts=exp and thumbs ups=rank... lol). maybe these ideas would be better proposed somewhere else on af. is there a forum suggestion thread somewhere?
the stickies here look a lot cleaner now. I still think we should have a b5 picture gallery though and I know it would probably take a lot of time to organize it, but a faq thread with links to other threads with frequently asked questions (like other forums have) would probably lessen the repeated noob threads. maybe the "**Modifications * Maintenance * Members**" thread could be renamed to a faq thread or something like that then add more to it?

Good ideas. I think modifications, maint., and members pretty much covers everything, though? I personaly have never been a fan of "FAQ".. It's so general.. I think in order to have the sort of ranking thumbs up/down thing like you are talking about would require a whole new interface/forum format, but you can try contacting Patrick about it. We have a picture gallery- its your photo album that is advertised at the top of the main page, right? We also have the members and their rides sticky that is now merged with the mods, maint, members sticky..

the mods/maintenance/members thread does cover a lot and is very helpful, especially in the newbie guide, but it's mainly information rather than discussion about certain topics that are posted about pretty often (diy's, tunes, suspension, stance, color, headlights, bodykits, exhaust, fmic, boost gauge, intakes, etc.). just an idea, not expecting you or anyone to take the time to set all that up
I figured it would be pretty complicated and maybe not worth the time to set up a ranking system like that..
the af members photo gallery is good but I don't really think many of the b5ers look through it and that could be why there are so many threads like, "check out these new pics I took!!!!!!!" the pictures aren't always worthy of starting a whole new thread so they could just add it to a b5 picture picture gallery thread instead
another thread I think we should have is a cheap diy/homemade mods thread

I think the new threads like "look at these new pics I took" is what helps keep the forums active and alive. If everything was stickied or if there was a seperate link to discuss every different topic in every model and sub model forum, there would be nothing really "live" happening. The point of this and other similar sites is if you feel like something is worthy of being posted, then post it. My stock looking A4 probably has never been worthy of posting pics, but I have done it several times in the past, and it somehow made my AF experience cooler. People like to express themselves and shouldn't have to worry about what they say or post being worthy of someone elses standards. Besides, if we had sub model specific stickies or links for specific areas of discusion, noobs would NEVER know how to follow that protocall and this place would just turn into a flamefest. In an ideal noob free world I would agree with everything that you said.

Anway, I'm open to hear anyone's suggestions, but I'm just trying to compile some stickies here
