Default Stiff trunk help

My friend and I both have black b5 sport a4's, I though my trunk was stiff so I played with his trunk to check, same thing so I figured this was how it's supposed to be.

LATER, I took my b5 to audi for some maintainence and they said my trunk was stiff. Before I order new trunk arms/rods/what ever they are's that hold the trunk up, is this common and is there an easy fix?

Would it be worth it to go to the junk yard, basically any money saving tips, because if the parts are expensive I'm just gonna leave it as it's not really a big deal(still works, just stiff), but if it's cheap/easy I'll fix it?

thanks,
Glen

You just mean its hard to open and close? Does it really bother you that much it is a trunk? Save your money IMO. Unless its very very stiff as in can't close it.

it's hard enough to open and close that my girlfriend complains

If the part is 200$, forget it, but if it's like 50$ I would do it.

Thought if it was a common problem there might be a diy like use some wd40 haha

Replace the little struts on both sides. I had a similar problem on my 97 and the trunk wouldn't even lift by itself. They were around $20 a piece.

Well, you could tell the girlfriend that you can fix the problem by installing a carbon fiber trunk lid... Or a louder exhaust to shut her up!
