I was driving to Philly earlier and there was rubble on the road and i hit it on driver side wheel and i smashed a fog light.. i drove for a while then my steering started to get stiff and there was something hanging out from the bottom of my car... I was wondering if anyone knew what this was and if it was a expensive fix. This happened on NJ turnpike and i was able to drive the car back home to Connecticut. I just cant turn the wheels when the car is stopped.

The piece that is hanging looks like a rod with like a circular hook with oil.. any suggestions will be helpful

 

Do you have a camera, or at least a camera phone? Take a couple pics of it and post them, or at least give more info (size of piece hanging down, what side of the car it's on, etc) - the more info you give, the more luck you'll have getting info.
