Alright, first things first.... Open the hood when the car is running. Take a listen around the engine compartment for where the noise is coming from. The turbo is on the left obviously. I don't think a buzzing/clicking noise at idle is going to be the turbo, but the loss of boost and whizzing noise probably is. But you never know. You can always take a hollow metal tube, maybe about an 3/4 of an inch or less about a foot or two long and use it as a sort of automotive stethoscope. What you would do is put one end of the tube on both the intake and exhaust portions of the turbo (one at a time), and put the other end up to your ear using your hand to kind of butt it softly against your ear. You will be able to hear any noise that the turbo is making. But like I said before, just take a listen under the hood to see where the noise is coming from (Front, Back, Left or Right).

If you can, go to your local parts store if you don't have a scan tool, and check the codes in the ecu. If any codes are stored write them down.

I'm wondering if you didn't lose a piece of the turbine or something fell into the turbo inlet. That would be really bad. But not to worry yet until you diagnose where the problem noise is coming from at idle. If you can take a picture and post it with some arrows to show where it is coming from. You can do that by signing up for a free account at photobucket.com, and using the editing tools. That way we can see what you are talking about.
