Stuck front rotor
Hi everyone. I am changing out my front brakes. I have removed the two allen key slide screws and caliper. I have removed the two 17mm caliper retaining bolts and that assembly as well. My problem is that the rotor appears absolutely stuck on. I have hit it with a large rubber mallet both towards and away from the vehicle and it will not move. Is there a way to lever it off or use a bolt to push it off?
I have tried a little bit of a heat wrench but am afraid of frying the front bearings, although with the pounding I've been doing I doubt I can do any more damage
Any other tricks people have had success with?

This happened to me, on both driver and passenger sides... In the end I had to buy a large 3-prong puller that fits around the rotor and pushes against the axle bolt. It probably took about a minute per side with the puller! You may want to check if you have a local auto parts store that will rent one out to you, especially so you can make sure to get one large enough.
After removing the caliper and the 17mm carrier bolts, the rotor should literally fall off into your hands. Even if there was a set screw (which i believe, depending on the year, there was) all that hammering you did should have knocked it right off. From what I can tell, the OEM rotors are raw steel, and the parts not cleaned by the pads rust badly. I would try spraying the inside part of the rotor where it touches the hub with some PB Blaster and letting it sit for a few hours, then going at it again.
Thanks guys. I'll see about grabbing a puller. The rotor is worn undersized now anyway so if I do something strange to it I don't have to worry.
Anyone use antisieze on these parts? The Canadian winters seem to like sticking things together - I even had to coerce the tires off...
